Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies

3/4 cup (3/4 stick) butter flavor crisco
1-1/4 cups firmly packed light brown sugar
2 Tablespoons milk
1 Tablespoon vanilla
1 egg
1-3/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1 cup pecan pieces (optional)

1.) Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
2.) Combine butter crisco, brown sugar, milk, and vanilla in a large bowl. Beat at medium speed until well blended. Beat egg into mixture.
3.) Combine flour, salt, and baking soda. Mix until well blended and add chocolate chips.
4.) Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough 3 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375 F for 8 to 10 minutes for chewy cookies, and 11-13 for crisp cookies. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet before removing to keep the cookie from falling apart.

Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
Dough keeps well in the refrigerator, but it is best to let it warm to room temp before baking.

Happy Baking!!
